Pearson Test of English is a Computerised exam and tests you in four skills – Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking. Angels School of Knowledge provides specialised training and extensive practise materials for this test.
Pearson Language Test is a unit of the Pearson PLC group, it is a Computer based test of English for study abroad and immigration.
General info on PTE test
50+ centres
PTE test is available in 50 countries/regions worldwide with over 200 test centres. In India, PTE is available in 19 cities.
360+ test dates
There are more than 360 test dates in a year for taking the PTE test making it both highly available and highly flexible.
10-90 scoring
PTE score ranges from 10 to 90. A higher score means a better user of English communicative skills, either as a single skill or together with other skills. PTE scores also correlate with CEFR.
CB Test
PTE is a fully computer-based test (CBT). A good typing speed and computer literacy are needed to perform well in this test. Our centre has a computer lab (30 seats) to give you a simulated experience.
PTE Academic Test
Mostly for someone applying to a university abroad or immigration to Australia/NZ.
PTE Academic test – The 3 hour Test has three main parts
Speaking and Writing (together), Listening and Reading.
There are twenty variable question patterns, ranging from multiple choice through to essay writing and interpreting information. It is a completely ‘Computer Based Test’ conducted at a Pearson test centre.
Speaking and Writing
77 – 93 minutes
- The first part assesses on the following:
Personal Introduction, Read Aloud, Repeat Sentence, Describe Image, Re-tell Lecture, Answer Short Question, Summarise Written Text, Essay (20 mins task). - The speaking section will assess your skills by reviewing your ability to produce spoken English in an academic environment.
- To test you in the writing section, you will be required to write responses in academic English using correct grammar and spelling on the computer screen.
- Answers are typed, and/or audio recording is done on the mic on the computer system. Correct pronunciations and Grammar are important here.
Reading
32 -41 minutes
- This part of the test assesses you on the following:
Fill In The Blanks, Multiple Choice Questions, Re-Order Paragraphs, Multiple Choice Questions. - This single timed section consists of 15-20 independent and integrated skills questions. Different response patterns are designed to test your ability to read. As PTE tests your integrated skills in English, one pattern in this section analyses writing skills too.
- Answers are typed, and/or audio recording is done on the mic on the computer system. Correct pronunciations and Grammar is important here, also some basic computer knowledge and QWERTY keyboard familiarity are recommended.
Listening
45 – 57 minutes
- This part contains questions based on audio or video clips which begin to play automatically. Each audio or video is played only once, but you are allowed to take notes. Be prompt here!
- The third part assesses on the following:
Summarise Spoken Text, Multiple Choice Questions, Fill In The Blanks, Highlight The Correct Summary, Multiple Choice Questions, Select Missing Word, Highlight Incorrect Words, Write From Dictation - Answers are typed, and/or audio recording is done on the mic on the computer system. Correct pronunciations and Grammar is important here, also some basic computer knowledge and QWERTY keyboard familiarity are recommended.
